Trend Alert: Tan Leather

Trend Alert: Tan Leather

Have you been pinning this trend as of late? You’re not the only one! My pinterest page is sprinkled with all kinds of tan leather furniture and accessories. Tan leather is an instant classic - a material that ages well and lasts longer than any piece of fabric. This mid-century, modern girl loves pairing tan with natural textures, succulents and hints of Navy. Tan also known as; light brown, caramel and cognac has been recently showcased by all favorite designers and blogs, like studio McGee, Cup of Joe and Emily Henderson. Not to mention many of the big retailers like Stuctube, West Elm and CB2 are now stocking sofas, chairs, ottomans and pillows in this hot hue. And, although I’m writing about this as a trend, I foresee tan leather sticking around for some time as it is a premium material that is both stylish and timeless.

I love this space by Studio McGee (well … I love everything they do). The sofa works perfectly in this room, layered with neutrals and a sea of white, it feels chic and inviting. The mix of woods in the chairs, coffee table and stools, plays well with the sofa, and the pillows bring a certain softness to the room. This universal sofa is perfect for any home, as it be can styled many ways.

Here is a space from another favourite, Emily Henderson. Her Glendale, California Cool living room is family friendly, rustic and warm. The two tan leather chairs are grand and eclectic, and gently anchor this living space. That fireplace, bench and chairs are like a big hipster hug - a perfect place for entertaining or just kicking back.

This little pillow vignette is everything.  Here again is Studio McGee greatness – really, they can do no wrong in my eyes.  This leather pillow adds just the perfect pop to the grey/blue back drop. You can purchase this exact pillow from their amazing home line McGee & Co.

This gorgeous room was featured in Domino magazine, and it just oozes ease and sophistication. The neutral palette highlights the tan leather ottomans and Caramel chevron credenza. I recently found similar ottoman’s on etsy and I’m just waiting for the perfect client home to place them in
