Add a Boho Touch with the Pantone Colour of the year
This year’s Pantone colour of the year, is the moody, magical hue, Ultra Violet. I have to admit that when the colour was first announced, I didn’t see its full potential or how it could impact our design choices. Recently, at the Interior Design Show in Toronto, world renowned Interior Designers, Brian Gluckstein and Lynda Reeves led a discussion on trends and the colour of the year. The hosts were divided on their love for the colour, and asked the audience their views, with a slight majority that approved. Ultra Violet is an unexpected but exciting choice. The past few years, we have seen minimalist and monochromatic spaces flooding our social media feeds, and I believe people are beginning to crave colour and vibrancy in their homes.
Ultra Violet is designed to communicate originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future. This magical description makes me think of worldly design like one of my favorite looks - Boho décor. Bohemian decorating can be described as those who want their homes full of life, culture, and interesting items for all the world to see. It flies in the face of modern sensibilities and embraces the carefree, the relaxed and the unusual. That said, bohemian-style rooms tend to have certain similarities – they share some of the same features yet no two are completely alike. (source). Think natural textures, layered art, worldly decor and relaxed vibes, like this space provided by one of my favorite design bloggers The Decorista
Boho inspired spaces, is more than a trend - it’s a pillar in design styles. It speaks to an era, a lifestyle and feeling of interest and ease. Bohemian elements can be added to another design style for an authentic and curated look. My personal style is modern boho – I love clean lines, paired with splashes of rattan, succulents and brass. If you have been thinking about changing up your home and craving an eclectic space, try adding some these items to your home.

Succulents – These juicy greens are a great way to add the cool facture to your space. I just adore this image by fashion and lifestyle blogger Amiee Song of Song of Style while at Coachella in Palm Desert, California. Coachella, is a music festival that takes place every April and is filled with hipsters and music lovers that embody bohemian lifestyle.
