5 Modern Sideboards for Ultimate Storage

As a designer, one of main challenges I hear from my clients is not enough storage and too much clutter in their home. Voiced by city dwellers, empty nesters who are downsizing and families with children – storage is always a concern. I know from my own experience, I am constantly looking to find better ways to store my kid’s toys, books and crafts. Not to mention the constant incoming of letters, binders, artwork and invites from school. Like most people, I want storage to completely functional, but above all – look great! That’s why I LOVE Sideboards. They are multi – functional and can placed in many different areas your home.  From offices, living and dining rooms, sideboards can conceal what you want hidden and display all your pretty décor.

As we are not in our forever home, I also need storage that works in my home and doesn’t break the bank. If I were in my dream home I would do a lot of custom millwork with some tailored free-standing pieces. However, for the renters and people like myself, savvy storage solutions can make a huge difference in a space.

In addition to beautiful design and function ability, I try to support as many Canadian Companies as I possibly can. The companies I have highlighted are Canadian, however, like many other companies in our great land, products are designed here, but manufactured off shore. Check out these stunning sideboards for their clean lines and ultimate storage.

I was thrilled to find out that EQ3 was based out of Winnipeg. I guess I hadn’t given it much thought prior to writing this post, but discovered that they manufacture most of their product line up in house. The Tambour Credenza is a new addition to their collection and is reminiscent of traditional roll-top desks made popular in the 19th century – but with a modern twist.  Made of Solid American Ash, the Tambour Credenza is a perfect addition to any modern space.

I feel like Bouclair isn’t top of mind when it comes to home fashion. I recently reacquainted with the Montreal brand a few years ago, and find myself sourcing from them quite often. The wood veneer and metal buffet has clean lines and deeply grained finish, interior shelves for loads of storage.
